The coast has shaped every chapter of my life.

Raised on Cape Cod and now painting from my studio in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, I create contemporary coastal paintings inspired by the places that continue to shape us long after we've left them. My work explores presence, memory, and our enduring connection to the coast, and is collected throughout the United States and internationally by those who believe the art they live with should be as meaningful as the life unfolding around it.

 

The Art of Presence

My relationship with the coast has always been more than inspiration. It has shaped the way I see the world.

Before becoming a full time artist, I earned a degree in Marine Science and Policy, worked aboard commercial fishing boats out of Chatham, Massachusetts, and studied coastal environments from Cape Cod to the San Juan Islands in the Pacific Northwest, the marshes of the Southeast, and the remote coastlines of Mexico.

Long before I painted the coast, I lived it.

My connection to the water was shaped by years spent on boats, in the field, and immersed in the places that continue to inspire my work. Each coastline offered something different, yet together they deepened my understanding of changing light, shifting tides, resilient ecosystems, and the profound sense of belonging that draws us back to the coast throughout our lives.

It is that perspective, shaped through decades spent living, studying, and exploring the coast, that continues to define every collection I create.

My work begins in presence. The warmth of the sun, the scent of the sea, the sand beneath your feet, and the laughter you share. Those ordinary moments become our most treasured memories, and they are where every painting begins.

 

Homes That Tell a Story

The most meaningful homes tell a story. They reflect the places we have loved, the memories we have made, and the life we continue to build. The art we choose becomes part of that story, quietly witnessing ordinary mornings, family gatherings, changing seasons, and the memories that unfold within our walls.

My paintings belong in homes where beauty carries meaning, where a painting becomes a daily reminder to slow down, reconnect, and return to the places and moments that have shaped us.

Whether it is a quiet marsh at sunrise, the golden light of the Lowcountry, the movement of shorebirds across the flats, or the feeling of salt air after a day by the water, my work invites you to live with those memories long after you've left the shore.

 

Painting the Feeling of Place

I don't paint what the coast looks like. I paint what it feels like to be there.

Whether through a quiet landscape, figures gathered by the water, or shorebirds moving across the marsh, every piece begins with a moment worth holding onto.

The hush of the marsh at sunrise. Wind moving through the sea oats. Sunlight dancing across tidal creeks. Bare feet in warm sand. The quiet exhale that comes from watching the tide roll in.

My paintings invite you to reconnect with how those places made you feel, allowing those memories to become part of your everyday life.

Some paintings offer quiet stillness that encourages reflection. Others celebrate movement, light, and the joyful energy of coastal living. Together, they create spaces that feel welcoming, deeply personal, and grounded in the beauty of living fully present.

 

A Body of Work Worth Collecting

Collectors often describe my work as a visual exhale. My paintings are collected throughout the United States and internationally, finding homes in thoughtfully designed interiors, coastal retreats, and family homes where authenticity, craftsmanship, and timeless design are deeply valued.

Each collection builds upon the last, creating an evolving body of work rooted in presence, memory, and place. Together, they tell an ongoing story of coastal life shaped by lived experience. I believe every collection serves as a timestamp in an artist's journey, reflecting where I was creatively while laying the foundation for where the work will continue to go.

I release only a few original collections each year, allowing each body of work to emerge naturally through seasons spent observing, exploring, and experiencing the coast. Each release is intentionally limited, and original paintings are often collected shortly after they become available.

Behind every collection are years of dedicated study, disciplined practice, continual refinement, and an unwavering commitment to craftsmanship. While my work continues to evolve, my purpose remains the same: to create paintings that feel timeless, deeply personal, and worthy of becoming part of a collector's life.

I believe the finest works of art become part of a family's story. They quietly witness ordinary mornings, milestone celebrations, changing seasons, and generations of memories until they are no longer simply collected. They are cherished, lived with, and passed from one generation to the next.

That is the standard to which every piece I create is held.

Stewardship

Stewardship has always been a natural extension of my relationship with the coast. It has given me a lifetime of inspiration, and I believe it deserves our care in return. Through charitable giving, partnerships with local organizations, and support for schools and coastal conservation efforts, every collection contributes to protecting the landscapes and communities that continue to inspire my work.

Because in the end, my work has never been about painting the coast.

It has always been about helping people hold on to the places and moments that continue to shape their lives.
